It has been said that there are many sour pusses in the world! Those individuals who are almost always pessimistic and see the cup as half full. Do you know of anyone like this?

Now we do not necessarily believe that this is true, but perhaps we as a society have gotten accustom to hearing more from the pessimistic people than the positive? Or perhaps we normally see more bad in the news than good. How often do you see the major news headlines being positive? As I write this I just took a quick look online to confirm my point:) Sad to say, but I was correct.  

In any event, a major inspiration for designing the character Sauerpuss was because I wanted to create a character and brand that added to the spectrum of positivity in the world! And for a bit more perspective, I grew up with cats, happen to love cats ( My first cat was named Cheeseburger, but that’s another story!), and therefore decided to create a friendly cat. Another big reason I chose a cat is because many do not believe cats to be all that loveable, especially when compared to a dog. So, I wanted to be a bit counter-intuitive and creative in my rational for a cat. As for choosing the color, I chose a light blueish color because I wanted this to be an amazingly creative cat! And the idea of using “Sauer” in the name was easy- it is my last name and it helped support one of my favorite phrases: “There are a lot of sourpusses in the world, BUT there is ONLY ONE Sauerpuss!! “(To be honest, the main reason for coming up with Sauerpuss is because my wife gave me the idea for the name:) She deserves the credit!
